The party was held at the lovery beach home of Jack and Carol (Company) Murphy,
345 N. Poplar Street, which intersects the western end of Sand Road.
In the far center background, Warren is chatting with Ron Company's friend,
Jim Harlett (wildly figured shirt, see next picture).
Small world, I (John) had know Jim's brother, Bill Harlett, a real-real estate title
attorney at Blowimg Green, Ohio.

The beach and the lake were beautiful.
It reminded me of our high school days when many of us would sun and swim at East Harbor State Park.
Our spring-time ritual always was to drive up to East Harbor to 'see' if the beach was still there.
Often the winter waves were harsh, washing the beach away,
Today much of East Harbor is lined with huge rock slabs.

Shucks, Warren, I forgot to ask you to chuck those shades!
But your beard is impressive ... Ron Company has a long way to catch up with you!
And has anyone ever seen Pat (Sheely) with a single hair out of place?
She always looks picture perfect.

Jack Beisner reminded me that in high school, he was the one who rode a blue & black 1937 Harley `45` V-twin.
(Rick Lawery road a red Harley `74` V-twin.)
Bob Calvert (see last photo) and I impressed with jack's bike, considered shopping for a Harley 1451.
But we did't seriously pursue it.
Later, beyond high school, Bob bought a neat, black 1949 Indian Scout `249` Vertical-Twin.

While in his early teens, before he had a driver's license, Rich road a little red Doddle-Bug motor scooter.
In 1973 he bought a new Honda 350-Twin motorcycle that he still owns .... now all primping up and awaiting a brand new gas tank which is in the paint shop.
Rich said he also had owned a Honda 250 Single and a Honda 750 Four -Cyliners motorcycle.

we all found the party!
Couldn't have gotten there withouth their help. Thanks a bunch!

When we were in high school, Gene and Jan dated in his little maroon coupe -- Gene though it may have been a '39 Chevy?
I told Gene that "while all of you guys were chasing after women, I was interested in your cars!"
Gene just whooped!

Our gracious hosts for the pizza party, Alma and Ron furnished the pizza and beverages.
Several years ago, while I was doing some real estate work in Tiffin for ODOT, we three
enjoyed some time together in the Seneca County Recorders's Office searching the public records
for the location of Ron's great (or great-great)
grandfather's farmland near New Riegel.

Keeping Smitty in line is a big job, but somebody has to do it!
Gerry, did you have the foggiest idea what you were gettng into?
Actually, having Smitty for my friend during high school was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
Inmature counrty boy that I was, Smitty help make the transition to the "city culture" of Tiffin Columbian!

I'm to blame for this picture, Alma! After persuading Ron to shed his sun visor and shades,
I egged him and Shari into this "outrageous' pose.
I said I wouldn't tell on him, by hey, a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

Alma and Ron, our gracious hosts, did everything possible to make the party a wonderful success.
And even, though it was a hot summer day, we were blessed with a nice breeze along the lake shore.
We all enjoyed the camaraderie ~~~ Smitty's 72nd Birthday!
Ed turned 72 the day of of the party! Heck, he doesn't look that old, does he?
